FREE MENTAL HEALTH TRAINING
COMMENCING SPRING 2022
The coronavirus pandemic has rapidly swept across the world and is inducing a considerable degree of fear, worry and concern in the population at large and among certain groups in particular, such as older adults, care providers and people with underlying health conditions. In public mental health terms, the main psychological impact to date is elevated rates of stress or anxiety. As part of our community response, the Creating Sustainable Communities project is working with training partners to develop community training programs on the mental health and psychosocial support aspects of COVID-19. We are pleased to partner up with Zest for Life Conselling & Training Services to begin roll-out of a range of community mental health courses focusing initially on promoting mental health and wellbeing during COVID-19. Theses courses offered initially via Zoom will be delivered by accredited trainers will be experiential in nature and contain tools and techniques suitable for use with service users. will commence during the summer of 2021 and we are now actively seeking enrolments from individuals and groups.
FREE 1 DAY COPING WITH ANXIETY WORKSHOP FOR INDIVIDUALS OR COMMUNITY GROUP MEMBERS
The Managing Anxiety in Covid 19 workshop is suitable for members of the public struggling with the daily challenge of anxiety.
Aim
Participants will be able to recognise symptoms,
and causes of anxiety, and learn helpful
strategies to manage their anxiety
Objectives
At the end of this workshop attendees will be
able to:
• Recognise anxiety and its causes.
• Identify the physical symptoms of anxiety
• Challenge unhelpful thinking patterns
• Understand anxious behaviours.
• Implement helpful tools to manage anxiety.
• Understand the impact of the Covid-19

FREE 2 DAY WORKSHOP MANAGING ANXIETY/pANIC FOR CARE PROFESSIONALS & THERAPISTS
This 2 day workshop is designed to develop the practice of professional workers and those who wish to broaden their counselling skills, and learn to use CBT appropriately in their work.
Aims:
This workshop will enable practitioners to:
• Recognise the different types of Anxiety
Disorders such as, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Specific Phobias and Social Anxiety Disorder.
• Identify and assess Anxiety/ Panic Disorder
• Use appropriate Cognitive interventions
• Making ethical & informed decisions
Objectives:
On completion of this workshop, participants will be
able to:
• Carry out Assessment Anxiety/ Panic Disorder.
• Use a treatment plan for Anxiety/ Panic Disorder.
• Use cognitive interventions alongside underpinning
theory.
